Crikey. Crystal Swing did end up on the Late Late Show. Totally daft but good for them.

It’s too easy to sneer at stuff like this – so I won’t.

Strange days for the Irish band Crystal Swing. First their youtube video is tweeted like crazy, then they get written about in the Irish Times and they were on the Late Late Show. (Click the link to see their performance). Good for them, they make me laugh.

This is the clip that got them all the attention.

(They’re brother and sister btw).

I’m fond of this clip as well – always like to see someone leading with their knees when dancing, but when he runs into the crowd (about 1:17) I couldn’t help but think “fecking idjit” and yet I’m not Irish and I don’t like it when people pretend they are by saying things like fecking idjit. I did, however, like how happy he made all the old women and the way he got them cheering and clapping like loons.

I suppose if they are going to get anything out of this publicity they are going to have to carefully negotiate the difference between “laughing at us” and “laughing with us” – or they could just enter Eurovision I suppose.
